For physical therapy the bC is used as a positioner for applications such as ice, stim, ultrasound, soft tissue manipulation, joint mobilization, and stretches.
For whiplash: Face down on the bC, the patient is well supported with the neck flexed, ideal for working with whiplash patients. Because the Face Support of the bC is freely attached, the P.T. has the ability to place the patient’s neck in lateral flexion. With the use of a Small Wedge Adjuster, placed under the Face Support Base, various angles of flexion and extension of the neck are made possible.
For back pain: Face down on the bC, the patient’s lumbar spine is mildly decompressed. With the addition of Large Wedges beneath the bC (these add 2” of elevation for the ribs and pelvis, thereby further decompressing the lumbar spine).
