| What table size is best for me? |
One of the most important choices you'll make about your massage table is its size. Ideally, the table will be wide enough to comfortably accommodate clients yet narrow enough (and at the appropriate height) to ensure good body mechanics. Efficient body mechanics become even more important in a busy practice. Make sure you can step in close enough to direct your body weight through relaxed shoulders down through your hands. Our standard width of 30" is chosen by 85% of therapists who find that almost all their clients fit comfortably on their table. Please note: Custom Craftworks tables are upholstered so that there is more positioning room on the surface (by wrapping the foam so it is more "square" at the side.) The standard adjustable height range of 25"-35" (on the 3" foam tables) offers a generous 10" range so most modalities are easily accommodated.
You're always welcome to call us if we can offer any guidance for your particular situation.

| What is the best table for my practice? |
Whether you're doing 70,000 treatments
per year like The Utah College of Massage Therapy or doing a few massages
per week, our best-selling Athena table delivers luxury, beauty,
stability and silence. It is the top-performing table in its class. For
therapists with specialized needs we have developed several innovative treatment
tables. The Omni table is designed for those who specialize in deep
tissue or sports massage. It features an even thicker plywood top and an
inverted truss to provide extra support in the middle of the table. The
Prenatal table, with our exclusive breast recesses and adjustable
abdominal support, allows pregnant women the luxury of laying face down
throughout their pregnancy. Our Feldenkrais table, designed with
the guidance of leading Feldenkrais trainers, provides optimal sensory feedback
while withstanding the rigors of the Feldenkrais method. For salons and
spas with multiple functions to address, we offer Salon and Tilt
tops on stationary or electric lift tables, as well as a Portable
Salon model. The tilting back and elevating legs lets you easily do
facials, waxing, reflexology and massage.

| Which face rest makes best
sense for my practice? |
The best way to choose a face rest is to ask, "How do I wish to position my clients' head during treatments?"
With our most popular face rest, the Posi-Tilt, you can tilt the head downward, lengthening the neck and creating light traction. The Posi-Tilt also elevates almost 3" above the plane of the table, bringing the face rest to the appropriate level for large-chested clients. The Posi-Tilt is simple, operates with a single cam lever and is close to the table so clients stay well supported.
Our Pivoting Posi-Tilt gives you an excellent tool for positioning your client's head laterally by pivoting 30 degrees in either direction, and includes the features of the Posi-Tilt. This allows for passive stretching of the neck and lets you shorten one set of lateral neck muscles so that you can work in more deeply with less resistance. This is truly a revolutionary advance in positioning capacity.
For treatments where clients are face down for very brief periods, or for non-professional treatments, the Stationary Face Rest is adequate.
The Versa-Tilt provides the same function as the Posi-Tilt but elevates more than 4" above the plane of the table. It is less proximal to the table and slightly less simple to use.
The Crescent Face Hole offers a nice way to combine a face rest pillow with a face hole for more comfort. Face holes create a shorter working surface and may need the addition of a table extender.

| For client comfort, is the thickness
of the foam the only difference to consider? |
The foam on your table will not only determine your clients' comfort level but will also affect the long-term wear and appearance of your table. In our research and experience, we have found that it is not possible to use lightweight foams without sacrificing long-term quality, as lightweight foam does not hold up over time. Our denser, better quality foam has more substance between air pockets compared to lighter foams. This means it will take longer to break down the structure of our foam allowing for a longer life. All of our foam systems feature high and medium density foams for solid yet resilient comfort that resists sagging or flattening over time.

| What is the difference
between upholstery materials? |
All of our upholstery materials are comfortable,
durable and easy to clean. Our standard upholstery covering, Levante
vinyl is relatively supple, wears well and is easily cleaned. Two option
fabric upgrades are also available. Duratouch and UltraLeather
are high-tech polyurethane fabrics with the soft feel of fine leather. Both
are luxuriously soft and very durable. We highly recommend Duratouch, which
is delightfully supple and has a slightly thicker backing that allows it
to hold its shape better and upholster beautifully. It is slightly textured
and holds sheets better. UltraLeather is even more supple for the ultimate
in comfort. However, it is a little more "slippery" for sheets and can stretch
or sag a little over time. Both of these premium materials are an extra
cost option. Cascade vinyl is also available at no additional cost.
It is the least supple we offer, but does hold sheets very well. All of
these materials may be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution. For
best results, wash the table at the end of the day or when you are finished
using it, then rinse with clean water and dry.

| What is a "real" Lifetime Warranty? |
We were the first of the major manufacturers in the table industry to offer customers a Lifetime Warranty. It is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to care for and serve our customers. A customer places their trust in us and we live up to that trust. Unlike other so-called lifetime warranties, ours is "real" in that we continue to warranty the structure of our table for as long as the original purchaser owns it—even after a product has been discontinued.
Our lifetime warranty is simple and straightforward. In the rare event of a defect in materials or workmanship, we will repair or replace the table for as long as you own it. We are committed to building products of high quality that will serve you for the life of your practice.

| What is the advantage of
double knobs on the table legs instead of one? |
The principle is simple. Double knobs connecting the leg extension to the leg provides more stability than one knob. A single knob is a potential pivot point. We use a double knob design because it holds better laterally and also provide insurance in case one knob loosens. Clients feel more secure on a table that is stable, they can relax more fully. A one-knob table that "sways" can mean that clients can't "let go" and receive your work as deeply. Our double knob design gives you the extra confidence to do your best work.

| Does Custom Craftworks
employ environmentally sound manufacturing practices? |
All Custom Craftworks products are thoughtfully
designed and manufactured with our fragile environment in mind. We use no
rain forest-depleting tropical hardwoods and our suppliers are carefully
chosen for their environmental awareness as well. We use Finnish Birch plywood
from sustainable yield forests, as Finland is renowned for selective and
ecologically sensitive harvesting. Our plywood is the "cleanest" plywood
on the market. The wood finishes and glues we use are non-toxic water-based
lacquers and our foam contains no chlorofluorocarbons. Even our wood shavings
are recycled! Oregon is a leader in the U.S. for recycling and our crew
faithfully participates in recycling efforts.
