When selecting a massage table, obviously price is a main consideration, but should not always be the "most" important. If you are a professional therapist with an established client base, you know the value of a table that will perform under 15 to 30 massages per week.
The integrity and durability of a massage table usually coincides with the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. Tables that are "manufactured" in America come with a higher cost than the ones being imported from China. This does not "always" mean that they are "better", but the phrase "you get what you pay for", still holds true, most of the time. Portable and stationary massage tables are made from wood, vinyl, foam, and sometimes metal. The quality of these materials and the craftsmanship are what determines whether a particular piece of equipment is going to last 10 years or 2 years.
The other intangibles are: How often is the massage table used, the average size of your clients, what type of massage therapy do you perform, (Swedish, deep tissue, rocking, ect.) All of these factors should be considered when selecting a particular massage table. If your purpose is just for occasional use at home, then you probably do not require your massage table to be of  professional quality.
There are so many more companies and varieties of massage tables today than there were 10 years ago, that it can be confusing and complicated to know whether you have selected the right one for your purpose.
